Wow... That's insanely generous of you. I'm swamped at work this week but I'll put something up in the next couple days hopefully.

Jack grew up in the underhives of Scintilla as a nameless, orphaned street urchin. His childhood was spent constantly sifting through garbage for any scrap of food he could manage to find. More often than not fighting would break out among the homeless whenever an urchin managed to find anything edible and, oft times, it ended in death. Jack was not born physically superior in any way. He was just an average by struggling to survive. He managed to get by, as so many countless billions have before him and will long after his name is forgotten, using nothing more than his wits and an ample supply of luck. It was mere chance, perhaps even fate, that brought him into a confrontation with an underhive ganger by the name of Jas Sorin. It just so happened that Jas was looking for a very valuable shipment of drugs that he had foolishly tossed the night before while being chased down by some less than reputable characters. Needless to say, they saw no reason why they shouldn't keep the money AND the drugs. That, however, is a story for another time. Jas was sifting through the midden heaps that were young Jack's daily foraging grounds. His time was running very short. If he couldn't produce the shipment for his boss in another hour, his fate would be much worse than it would have been if the dealer had gotten ahold of him. Overcome with frustration, Jas slumped down against some empty crates and fired up a lho stick. As he sat there pondering his fate, Jas took notice of Jack sifting through the heaps. The boy had a keen eye and a good instinct for finding things. There was nothing to lose at this point. Anything was worth a shot. Jas approached Jack with a warm smile on his face and greeted him with an outstretched hand. Jack warily eyed this man that he had never seen before and paid particular attention to the pistol strapped to his thigh. He was tempted to run but he knew that if this man wanted to kill him, there was nothing he could do to stop it and so he did the only thing he could do... he cautiously reached out and shook his hand. After explaining that he had lost something of great value to him and that he was in a great hurry to get it back, Jas gave Jack a lho stick with the promise of another when the job was done. Jack had never smoked a lho stick. In his eyes, that was a luxury fit for a king. When Jack found the package and returned it, Jas gave him a 2nd lho stick, true to his word. In truth, the ganger felt deeply indebted to the boy for saving his life and so, over the next couple of years, he would frequently return with other little jobs for Jack to do to earn some scraps of food or a sip of amasec. When Jack grew to be a boy of 13, Jas came along as he did every now and again with a job for him. This time, it was a different kind of job and the reward would change Jack's life forever. Jas had moved up in his gang and was now one of the boss's 3 lieutenants. The boss tragically fell from a 300 story window to his inevitable demise. They just don't make 3 inch thick glass like they used to.... Upon his death, a dispute broke out among the 3 over who would take control of the gang. The only way to resolve such an issue, obviously, was for the 3 of them to kill each other off until only one was left standing. While the others were trying to win the favor of the rest of the gang, Jas decided to take a different approach. About a quarter of the gang was already loyal to him and would fight in his name, but that wasn't enough. He decided to hit the streets and raise an army of unfortunates to secure his place. He asked Jack to gather all the destitute in the streets that he could find and make an offer: if they fought for him they would all get a week of hot meals and shelter with the possibility of recruitment into the gang when he emerged the victor. His offer to Jack was that if he gathered this army for him, he would secure himself a place in the gang. Over the next few days, Jack had gathered over 50 unfortunates to fight for Jas. When the time came, Jas and his force decimated the paltry numbers that the other 2 had gathered and he earned his title as gang boss. After that, Jack became a full-fledged member of the gang and slowly worked his way up from the bottom. Jas took notice of the fact that he was a quick learner and had developed good senses and reflexes from his life as an orphan in the underhives of Scintilla. He was particularly good at finding things, or people, that didn't want to be found. Jas saw the potential and decided to make an investment in young Jack, now a boy of 15. He had the best fighters in the gang train Jack for days at a time in every form of combat they were familiar with. He practiced shooting at giant rats in the sewer system. By the time he was 17 years old, after 2 years of intensive training, Jas decided to collect the return on his investment. One of the shopkeepers that owed Jas money for "protection" hadn't paid his dues. You know how the story goes. Jas sent some of his boys to visit the old man and rough him up a bit until he decided he wanted to pay... double. When they got there, the shopkeeper was long gone and noone could tell them where he went off to. Jack's mission was simple. Find the old man and bring back his head, along with anything of value that he had on him. When Jack returned with the man's head and triple what he owed in just 4 days, Jas was astounded. He knew that Jack's potential was beyond that of anything he could achieve in the gang and, never having forgotten that fateful day they first met and Jack unknowingly saved his life, he felt that the time had come to repay the life debt that he owed. He contacted a woman that his gang had run a few jobs for and made a recommndation. The woman happened to be a member in a local guild for hitmen. When Jas told her about Jack's various talents and his potential, she agreed to come have a look at him, though she truthfully wasn't expecting anything worthwhile. After testing various attributes of Jack's, she was mildly impressed with his skills and agreed to take him under her wing. She taught him everything she knew and gave him a rigorous training schedule. After several years with the guild, certain people began to take notice of Jack. His ability to track down targets while remaining unseen was legendary. He wasn't the best in hand to hand combat, but he could hold his own and his shooting skills held great potential. Word had spread around the guild that some bigshot was looking to hire an assassin. Apparently it was someone that came around every few years or so to hire someone new. The ones that went were never seen by the guild again. The guild master would be sorry to see Jack go but he had to let him go, as he was still the least seasoned member of the guild and, therefore, the most expendable. Jack was taken away and thus began his journey into Inquisitorial service. The man who was looking to hire an assassin was an Inquisitorial agent who made stops at assassins guilds and the likes to recruit potential acolytes. Jack was sent to a training camp on a remote world and there he honed his skills to perfection. By the time he was 24 years old, his superiors were satisfied with his proficiency and decided to put him into action. They had recently heard rumors that Harlock's collection of rare artifacts was going to be up for auction and they could use someone like him to keep an eye on things....

Description: Jack is of slightly above average height with a slender/athletic build. His hair his currently blond, however, he picked up the habit during his time in the assassins guild on Scintilla of frequently changing hair styles and colors. He has steely gray eyes. He is built athletically but on the slender side. His strength is about average and he does not cut an imposing figure, however, his reflexes and coordination more than make up for what he lacks in brute strength.


Truthfully, I searched yahoo images for about 20 mins looking for some kind of a picture to put with this but I could find anything that I felt really belonged to my character and I think that just posting a random picture of a guy with a gun would take away from the authenticity of his background. I'd rather stick with a +3 bonus and not label him with an image that just doesn't fit who he is. I think his image should just remain how it's been illustrated by his description and his demeanor.
